Yo Baby!

Greetings! Today I will be working from home for the first time. As a company, we could no loner justify the costs of keeping the building, so we will soon be working from our home offices. Most of our work is on location, and we all have the means to work remotely. Daycare is closed today and tomorrow, so I have GPH with me today. He is definitely getting to that point where he whines and knows we will get him. Must research some ways to appropriately break that habit. Other than that, he is healthy, beautiful, happy and hilarious. He keeps us all entertained on a daily basis. It is so hard to believe that in a little over a month he will be a year old. Time really flies. I printed his birthday invitations yesterday, and I couldn't be happier! I created them myself in CS4 and my good friend Amy Grages took the adorable picture that you see on the invitation.

She also took several more that I am in love with, this one being my very favorite:

He is looking like a toddler! We have so much fun together. Lots more planning to do on the party, but I am excited about all of it. My gift to him (a rocking horse) just arrived in the mail! He has a personalized birthday shirt, AND I am planning on making the cake myself. Yep. We shall see....





In other baby news, I would like to say how incredibly happy I am with Stonyfield Farms YoBaby Organic Yogurt. They have this one called 3 in 1 meals, and it has yogurt, a fruit and a vegetable. Grayson LOVES them. I highly recommend....



So, I am FINALLY completely moved in and settled in my apartment. After the whole divorce/moving process, housesitting for a month and a half, getting adjusted to single-momhood and a new job, I am just now getting in my routine. My health and fitness is my priority again, and it needs to be. I will keep you posted on that too...

And I'm back.

This isn't the venue for details, but, I have arrived at a new chapter in my life. Single Mom-hood. I am separated and divorced as of this summer. The process has been rocky. I was scrutinized, questioned, judged, sympathized with, congratulated, laughed at, encouraged and everything else, in the last few months. Frankly, I got emotionally exhausted for a minute there. I had to come to a place where I realized that I know myself, my life, my ex-marriage and my son better than anyone else and their opinions/inquisitions. I had to regain control, confidence and security. I am officially comfortable with my new place in this world and I am learning more about self-love. The cards fell where they fell, and I find it unproductive to stop moving and dwell on it. I have made the choice to move forward, and choose happiness over complacency. Nothing feels better than optimism in it's purest form. I am being re-introduced to myself, so to speak. And while this journey will certainly have major ups and downs, as long as confidence and love remain; I will be fine. Ultimately, I have been blessed with the experience, the lessons learned and that I can come out of this with a good relationship with Jay, as Grayson's father.

After I left Imhoff Eye Center, I accepted a position as Studio Manager for a photography studio on St. Simons. I have been more than thrilled to be there. I am able to excel at what I am good at (organizing, marketing, paperwork), while learning more about my passion. Not to mention the fact that I work for two fabulous photographers who have been amazing to work for.

I found a cute apartment on SSI which is just 100 yards from work and in the same vicinity as Jay's condo. I move in August 1st and I couldn't be more excited about it.

I still love to run, and have been trying to get in 2 miles/day, and I have strongly gotten back into practicing Yoga. Both of these things have been critical to my ongoing peace and happiness!

GrAySoN WoRlD:

GPH is beyond perfect. There are no words for how much I love this kid. He is my salvation. He is now almost 10 months old, which is really hard to believe. He is almost walking, but not quite. "Cruising" I guess is the term. He enjoys playing with his toys, dancing to music, practicing talking, and munching on his snacks. (Welcome to self-feeding...) He still loves Ms. Rhoda, who keeps him during the day and sometimes doesn't want to leave her! He is "ninety to nothin'" when he is awake, but then lucky for me, he has a solid bedtime at 7:30 pm, and sleeps all night. Yes, this is appreciated. I am already in the planning process for his 1st birthday party... Standby for all that madness.

Overhaul.

This begins my re-introduction to the blogging world. You will notice that my blog carries a new title, but the same description. A new chapter in my life is beginning. The journey- be it lonely, difficult or challenging; will also prove to be stimulating and positive. I will use my blog to convey information, display my perspectives, and exhibit the randomness that is my daily life. I hope my sentiments will make someone laugh or think. Maybe my words will just satisfy the cravings of voyeurs and nosy people. Regardless, I am happy to start the habit back up. My blog is my catharsis. With that said, welcome to "Katie & Company". xo

Grayson at 8 months

Time is flying. It is so hard to believe that in 4 months, my baby boy will be one year old! For about a month now, he has been pulling up, walking down the couch (slowly), crawling at high speeds, and giving HIMSELF a bottle... What a big boy! He is getting taller and slimmer as he grows. Still tipping the scales at 25 pounds, he is a solid baby! He eats a variety of things now... pretty much whatever you give him, he will eat it. He loves the pool, and if he had it his way, he would dive in head first. No fear in this kid. His personality develops more every day. I am lucky to be his mom. He is my little angel...

Grayson at 6 Months and Other News

I am crazy busy lately, but I have found a few minutes to update the blog. Grayson had his 6 month Pediatrician Appointment yesterday. Along with 3 shots and an oral vaccine, we got a great report. He is healthy as can be! 28 inches long and 24 pounds. He now has two teeth on the bottom, one on top, and another on top that is almost through. This is making for a very whiny evening tonight. However, I did invest in a vibrating teether, and he thoroughly enjoys it. He got into a sitting position FROM laying on his stomach today. Very random, but I saw it with my own eyes. He is still scooting/crawling to get where he needs to go. Still no “Mama”…but a WHOLE lotta “Dada'”. Oh well… he does love his Dada. He FREAKS out when he sees Jay. It is the funniest thing! Josh came through on his way to Maryland last week and I got a few shots of him too. Here is my favorite. He hates it because he is smiling.

Annnd he got to see his nephew for the second time ever. Grayson adored him! It was so sweet, because Grayson isn’t a fan of “strangers” lately.

 

Also, we just found out that we will have Madraye and Halle for a good part of the summer! Yes, that means that everything in that “area” has turned out wonderfully in our favor as we knew it would. Finally, we can put all that drama behind us.

I will try to stay up on my blog over the next couple of months. I am insanely busy for a while… I guess that’s good! Ciao!
